To support us in our development, we are looking for a Central Material Planner.
Position based in the greater Paris area.
The Central Material Planner is part of the global SCM organization and reports both disciplinarily and professionally to the Global SCM Manager.
Goals of the Role :
- Implementation of the fulfillment/inventory strategy.
- Ensuring material availability with optimized inventory at the global GBO level.
- Supporting the establishment of efficient, flexible, and cost-optimized supply chain processes.
Core/Main Tasks :
Demand Planning for Product Groups in the Global Supply Chain Network :
- Identifying demand based on global S&OP planning and operational-level planning (orders in the system).
- Analyzing trends and seasonal fluctuations to determine the appropriate order quantity.
- System-supported calculation of optimal order quantities to avoid shortages or overstock.
Order Management :
- Initiating intercompany orders with production sites or suppliers, considering demand planning and inventory levels.
- Coordinating delivery dates and priorities to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Ensuring deliveries arrive on time and reacting in a timely manner and proactively communicating in case of deviations.
- Quickly finding solutions and coordinating escalations in case of delays, supply issues, or unforeseen events.
Global Inventory Management :
- Managing global inventory for the product groups and identifying shortages or overstock.
- Ensuring that the right products in the right quantity are available at the right time, including avoiding slow-moving stock.
Communication & Coordination:
- Regular coordination with production sites or suppliers regarding delivery dates and potential changes.
- Close collaboration with customer service, production planning, and logistics to ensure smooth and efficient deliveries.
- Handling inquiries about delivery times and dates, as well as general availability updates.
Data Analysis and Reporting :
- Monitoring and analyzing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as delivery reliability, stock levels/coverage, and lead times.
- Creating reports to present the efficiency and performance of the supply chain.
Technology and System Maintenance:
- Managing all relevant MRP parameters in the ERP system and regularly reviewing them for accuracy and up-to-dateness, as well as global standardization & optimization.
Cost Management :
- Contributing to ensuring cost efficiency in the supply chain through optimized transportation in collaboration with global and local transport management.
Scope of Responsibility :
Global Supply Chain Management within the GBO Group.
Your profile
Commercial or technical training.
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or similar) is an advantage, but not strictly required.
- Previous experience in supply chain management, procurement, scheduling, planning, or customer service.
- Experience with SAP (especially in the MM and/or SD module) or other ERP systems for managing the supply chain.
- Knowledge of specialized supply chain management tools (e.g., SAP GIB, IBP, etc.) for analyzing and optimizing inventory and supply chain processes is advantageous.
- Strong affinity for IT systems and the use of MS Office.
- Teamwork, communication skills, high level of intercultural competence, customer-oriented thinking and actions.
- Self-organization and time management, flexibility and resilience, attention to detail, and precision.
- Good English skills.
