Automation Technician II

Your challenge
• Conduct training as an Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide Tier II support to the operation
• Perform routine diagnostics and repairs on all machinery equipment
• Responsible for inventory control of spare parts, project development, and execution of scheduled maintenance
• Troubleshoot and determine if the problem is mechanical, electrical, automated or computer control systems
• Responsible for installing, maintaining and replacing automation systems and components throughout the production process
• Troubleshoot non-functioning components such as PLC I/O, Beckoff Controls, sensors, motors, pneumatics etc
• Responsible for overall equipment efficiency including cycletimes and scrap rate
• Read electrical drawings and perform electrical/electronic/automation troubleshooting
• Perform mechanical alignments and mechanical parts replacement
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and equipment investigations
• Adhere and follow all Standard Operating Procedures
• Knowledge of equipment sequencing through advanced troubleshooting
• Promote Teamwork and maintain a positive work environment and work relation to other departments.
• Manage maintenance, cleaning, and repair tasks for dosage equipment.
• Promote a safe work environment by utilizing proper safety equipment and procedures including Lock Out Tag Out and other processes
• Coordinate with production, downtime/ stoppages of assembly lines for repairs and maintenance
• Other duties as assigned
Your Profile
• Bachelors in Automation Technology / Mechatronics / Engineering Technology preferred or a A.S. in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent & 5-7 years industrial automation support experience.
• Experience with Beckoff Control Systems and ability to dive into the system for diagnostic evaluation
• Strong knowledge on high speed labeling systems and high speed camera inspection systems.
• Experienced PLC/ Buss system troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience in high volume automated manufacturing
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of high speed camera inspection systems
• Strong Critical thinking
• Strong Organizational and problem solving skills
• Strong Communication and writing skills
• Ability to learn new systems and equipment and provide training to other technicians as needed
• Champion all aspects of safety. Execution and adherance to Lock out Tag Out procedures
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with heavier weights
• Must have appropriate vision to read schematics and blue prints, additionally to perform detailed machine and quality inspections.
• Must be able to perform duties in limited spaces.
