EHS and Facilities Manager

Your challenge


•    Plans, implements, coordinates, and tracks Environmental, Health and Safety programs.
•    Foster a safe working environment through leadership and policy.
•    Influence and inspire all personnel to maintain a safe work environment which includes commitment to Greiner Bio-One safety standards.
•    Facilitate incident investigations including the assessment of near misses, unsafe acts, or unsafe conditions. 
•    Be the lead authority on safety including performance reporting, compliance, and assessments, as well as improvement suggestions and implementation.
•    Maintain OSHA knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
•    Oversee site chemical management plan along with overseeing Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system including PPE, handling, and disposal guidance.
•    Lead the First Responder First Aid/ CPR/ AED compliance program and maintain active participation rosters across shifts.
•    Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard & Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions. 
•    Ensure safety incident information and metrics are properly submitted and tracked in a timely manner. 
•    Champion the site Safety Committee and act as a resource to others as needed.
•    Ensure proper emergency response measures are implemented, optimized, and practiced. Includes, but not limited to, evacuation plans and emergency response procedures.
•    Publish and approve safety documentation, policies, and procedures.
•    Lead the Facilities Team to ensure infrastructure and grounds are maintained and all preventative maintenance are conducted, as necessary.
•    Oversee work order requests for facilities and ensure completion to internal customer satisfaction.
•    Manage and/or coordinate new construction and facility changes are done properly to code, with appropriate notifications to colleagues, in compliance with change order procedures, on time, and to stakeholder satisfaction.
•    Support adjacent departments with troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and best practices on equipment and infrastructure outside of Facility’s direct responsibility.
•    Champion continuous improvement activities for EHS and facilities
•    Lead sustainability and all sustainability activities for the site. 
•    Empower the local team to reduce waste, energy consumption, and carbon emissions.  
•    Support and implement international sustainability initiatives, plans, and targets.
•    Collaborate with international colleagues for best practices.
•    Establish and maintain best practices related to sustainability tracking and reporting metrics.
•    Utilizes relationships with outside consultants, vendors, employment agencies, professional associations, and Federal and State government agencies such as OSHA and the EPA to ensure local compliance.
•    Target and/or maintain relevant facility certification such as ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO50001, or other. 
•    Capable of defending responsible records and procedures in an audit from a certification body, customer, and/or regulatory body. 

Your Profile

•    Bachelor’s degree with a background in an Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing, or other related field. 
•    5+ years of responsibilities in EHS and Facility Management in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.
•    Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
•    Strong leadership, teamwork, analysis, and judgment skills. 
•    Experience in Worker’s Compensation case management.
•    Proven safety record, site successes attributed to individual impact and demonstrated measurable improvements to the safety program.
•    Capable in the required skills to be effective achieving success in the position including mechanics, machinery, maintenance, manufacturing workflows, project management, risk analysis, blueprint reading, construction, sustainability, etc...   
•    Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving employee related matters and concerns.
•    EMT certifications preferred.
•    Certified Safety Manager preferred.

 


Physical Requirements:
•    Ability to sit/walk for minimum of 8 hours per day. 
•    Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. 
•    Must be able to work weekends and/or alternate shifts as required. Must be able to travel from time to time including overnight, as required.
•    Position may require occasional travel.
