Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

Your challenge
• Provide hands-on support in implementing and sustaining EHS programs, policies, and ISO certification requirements (14001, 45001, 50001).
• Act as a daily safety presence on the production floor; coach and support team members on safe work practices.
• Assist in the development, delivery, and documentation of safety, environmental, and energy-related training programs.
• Conduct floor-level audits and inspections; monitor corrective actions and improvement efforts.
• Support hazard assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate environmental compliance activities such as waste tracking and spill response.
• Maintain organized records, including training logs, permits, and ISO documentation.
• Support internal audits and regulatory reporting (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NC DEQ).
• Collaborate with operations, facilities, and maintenance teams on energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
• Participate in emergency response planning, safety drills, and first aid/CPR readiness.Provide support during external audits and inspections..
• Model clean, safe work practices and help maintain hygienic, orderly work areas..
• Other duties as assigned.
Your Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in safety and/or environmental roles preferably in a manufacturing environment. Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA regulations, and ISO standards (especially 14001, 45001, and 50001).
• Knowledge of job safety analysis, energy management, and hazardous materials handling.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to coach frontline employees and work cross-functionally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with strong organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret procedures, training materials, permits, and audit checklists.
• Experience with EHS software or document control systems is a plus.
• Flexible shift start times; weekend work is rare and limited to critical needs.
• Must consistently follow all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours/day) across various areas of the facility.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds unassisted.
