Your challenge
• Strategic purchasing of different commodities and responsibility for global product groups in the field of medical technology
• Identification and implementation of cost saving potentials, conducting negotiations, and concluding supplier contracts, considering costs, quality, and lead time
• Working closely with the R&D, production, and quality management departments to coordinate needs and requirements
• Development and implementation of risk minimization strategies
• Connection between the local US organization and the global purchasing organization
• Close Collaboration with the Global Lead Buyers for different commodities (preparation of negotiations, negotiations with suppliers, annual meetings with suppliers, developing and implementing product group strategy, defining supplier strategy, identifying, and implementing savings potential, procurement market analysis, inquiries / tenders, MOB process, capacity planning and control.
• Collaboration in the implementation of the sourcing strategy; definition, implementation and evaluation of key tasks and annual targets (cost savings, OWC optimization, sustainability issues) derived from strategy/corporate goals.
• Collaboration in supplier management (supplier selection, supplier evaluation, performance discussions, supplier qualification, supplier visits, supplier classification, supplier evaluation, supplier audits, supplier development, determination of key figures); Adaptation of local supplier management processes to global standard processes.
• Creditworthiness analysis, escalation management, handling, and mitigating supplier failure.
• Collaboration on projects (organizational projects, process optimization, product development.
• Quality management in purchasing (maintaining documentation, ensuring supplier quality, handling complaints, creating GBO specifications in cooperation with specialist departments, obtaining and updating supplier specifications, certificates, etc.
• SAP end user, Other SAP Related software not required, but helpful
Your Profile
• Bachelors (required) or Masters Degree in Business, commercial economics, years of professional in strategic sourcing (5-10 years of experience)
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and computer skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and acting – also with a global interest and mindset.
• Strong analytical abilities in data-driven decision making.
• Independent and assertive working style
• Professional experience with forecasting, planning, and associated processes.
• Close and effective collaboration and contribution within a global matrix and local functions.
Physical Requirements:
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes – including international travel
