As a Warehouse Shift Leader at Greiner Bio-One North America, Inc., you will play a critical role in managing and directing daily warehousing operations to maintain smooth workflow and meet production targets. You will oversee the coordination of shipping, receiving, inventory controls, and labor assignments, ensuring that safety protocols and company policies are consistently followed. Your leadership will be vital in communicating shift priorities, facilitating operational handoffs between teams, and addressing challenges with agility to support business continuity. You will be responsible for fostering a team-oriented environment by guiding and mentoring warehouse personnel, promoting workplace safety, and driving efficiency across all shift activities.
Job Requirements
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems, including proficiency in SAP for executing accurate transaction processing such as purchase order receipts, internal transfers, and shipment coordination. You will handle critical documentation such as Bills of Lading and shipping documentation to ensure compliance and traceability. Maintaining inventory accuracy is essential, involving participation in cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, and enforcing FIFO/FEFO inventory rotation standards. Your commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant environment will be reflected in the enforcement of OSHA guidelines, GMP standards, and regular safety inspections, including forklift operations and ergonomic practices.
Ideal candidates will bring 3-5 years of hands-on experience in warehouse or distribution environments, with a preference for those who have held supervisory or team lead positions. An Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field will be advantageous, alongside essential certifications such as forklift operation. Excellent organizational and communication skills coupled with proven problem-solving capability will empower you to lead process improvements and participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives like Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
As a hands-on leader, you will engage in cross-training initiatives to enhance team versatility and provide coaching aimed at professional development. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk extensively, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, operate powered industrial trucks safely at height, and maintain performance in diverse warehouse settings using necessary personal protective equipment.
