Toolshop Engineer

As a Toolshop Engineer (Thermoforming), you will lead mold design, maintenance, and improvement activities to ensure high-quality production and efficient operations. You will work closely with the mold team, production, and suppliers, combining hands-on technical expertise with process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. This role suits professionals who enjoy problem-solving, team collaboration, and making a tangible impact on manufacturing performance and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the mold maintenance team, ensuring efficient workflow and high performance
  • Design, revise, and commission of thermoforming molds
  • Plan and monitor mold manufacturing processes
  • Lead maintenance, repair, and performance improvement activities for existing molds
  • Provide technical support for mold-related production issues
  • Coordinate CNC machining, precision manufacturing, and surface treatment processes
  • Communicate and collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Conduct cost analysis and contribute to continuous improvement projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Fluent English communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Strong knowledge of mold design and manufacturing
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in thermoforming (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-cavity thermoforming molds
  • Knowledge of food packaging production standards
  • ERP system experience
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
