Job Description:

Greiner Packaging is seeking a motivated Project Manager. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of projects across New Product Introduction (NPI), New Materials & Supply Chain Capital Equipment from concept to launch with a focus on on time, in full and at cost. Strong project management, multitasking collaboration with suppliers and customers, and an understanding of business case delivery are key to your success. A willingness to effectively communicate and collaborate with the full organization from senior stakeholders to operator level is a must. This is a unique opportunity to build a project management office environment from the base including portfolio tracking, strong cross functional team structure and robust processes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the commercial product project portfolio, including New Product Development, New Material Development, and supply-chain capital projects.
  • Build and execute robust deployment plans, driving projects from concept through industrialization and formal handover.
  • Manage portfolio timelines, risks, and resources to ensure launches are delivered on time, in full, and within approved cost.
  • Establish and manage external technical partners and service providers across CAD/design, equipment, testing, tooling, and specialized services.
  • Develop strong business cases and lead cross-functional stakeholder alignment across procurement, operations, quality, sales, and corporate functions.
  • Build, own, and continuously improve portfolio tracking tools, governance processes, and documentation standards.
  • Ensures the develop and maintenance of technical packaging specifications covering materials, tooling, and production requirements.
  • Partner with Operations and Quality to support equipment acceptance, product validation, and specification handover.
  • Lead customer-driven trials, factory acceptance testing, and root-cause investigations; communicate results across teams.
  • Provide technical and commercial input to sales initiatives, pricing models, and product profitability assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project execution, development processes, and resource utilization.
  • Coach, influence, and motivate project managers and cross-functional leaders, including those without direct reporting lines.

Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline (preferred).
  • Proven ability to work independently with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project and portfolio management, leading large, complex, multi-million-dollar initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business case development, financial analysis, and product profitability (P&L).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in technical and financial work.
  • Proficiency in CAD systems (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with TPM Early Management methodologies, including vertical startup, design reviews, and FMEA.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP systems.
  • Experience with engineering and innovation tools such as 3D printing, environmental scanning, and AI-enabled design platforms.
  • Familiarity with injection molding and thermoforming processes.
  • Strong understanding of plastic packaging materials, barrier technologies, and performance requirements.
  • Knowledge of sustainability regulations, recycling processes, and eco-friendly material solutions.
  • Exposure to sales processes and CRM systems.
  • Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of full product P&L ownership.

This position is based on site in our Pittston, PA facility. Travel 40% domestically and internationally depends on projects and customer needs.
