Are you numbers-oriented, analytically strong, and have an eye for detail? In this role, you will take on a central function in the billing and administration of funding projects. You will support the project managers of our divisions, ensure compliance with guidelines, and further develop the funding settlement processes. Additionally, you will contribute to internal cost allocation and the optimization of Research and Project Funding. Help us shape the future of research funding!

Weekly working hours

This position is offered as a part-time role with a workload of approximately 20 hours per week. Depending on requirements and individual agreements, there is the possibility of increasing the hours at a later stage.

Your challenge

  • Project Controlling for Funding Projects: Monthly determination and communication of project costs, target vs. actual comparisons, variance analyses, and forecasting
  • Project Support: Assisting with cost submissions, reporting, and billing of funding projects, ensuring compliance with funding regulations
  • Cost Collection: Supporting the assessment of research tax incentives, working closely with the relevant departments, tax, and accounting teams
  • Interface & Coordination: Close collaboration with project managers and funding consultants throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • System & Data Management: Setting up and managing a company-wide funding SharePoint, maintaining FFG systems (ECall), aligning with Statistics Austria, research tax incentives, and IFRS, as well as identifying optimization potential
  • Process & Further Development: Contributing to the development of central guidelines and optimization of project accounting
  • Strategic Support: Providing professional support to the Head of Group Research & Project Funding, particularly through presentations and reports

Your Profile

  • Completed commercial or business-related education (e.g., university degree, HAK, HLW with a focus on Controlling/Accounting)
  • Several years of professional experience in this field or a comparable position
  • Experience in funding management, project controlling, or finance is an advantage
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel; experience with SAP or FFG systems (ECall) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and structured way of working
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Very good German skills and basic English knowledge required

Due to legal regulations in Austria, we are required to disclose the minimum annual gross salary for this position according to the collective agreement, which amounts to approximately €57,800 (for full-time employment under the collective agreement for the chemical industry). We are open to overpayment depending on your individual qualifications and professional experience.
