Trade Compliance and Logistics Manager

Responsibility:
• Act as the primary liaison with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Manage HTS classifications, Country of Origin (COO) determinations, and valuation programs.
• Own compliance with FDA, USDA, Agriculture, CPB and other government agencies and regulations for imports and exports
• Oversee end-to-end import/export processes, ensuring accurate and complete documentation (Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin).
• Own the lifecycle of relationships with ocean/air carriers, service providers, and customs brokers. Lead annual freight bidding and performance reviews (KPIs).
• Analyze shipping lanes and lead times to reduce landed costs and eliminate bottlenecks in the supply chain.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 2-3 specialists, fostering a culture of precision and proactive problem-solving.
• Conduct internal audits of entry filings and develop and maintain a robust compliance manual to mitigate risk and avoid costly penalties.
• Identify, develop, and lead process improvement initiatives related to International Logistics and Trade Compliance
• Serve as Greiner Bio-One North America’s subject matter expert, maintaining up to date knowledge of trade laws, policies, and regulations.
• Provide executive level communication and guidance on U.S. Import / Export regulations and tariffs
• Develop and manage departmental budgets
• Manage internal and external training
• Other duties as assigned by Manager
Job Requirements:
• 7+ years experience with import and export transportation and compliance activities
• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) highly preferred
• Deep familiarity with Incoterms 2020, ACE, ERP (SAP preferred), and MS Office
• Strong analytical and math skills
• Strong negotiation tactics and the ability to translate complex federal regulations into actionable business strategies
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including executive level presentation skills
• Working knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulation, and GMP
